Grand Cinema: Lost & Found

Transport yourself to the golden age of cinema with a nostalgic afternoon in our beautifully restored 1950s Grand Cinema. The Grand cinema, from Ryhope, in Sunderland, has been recreated and brought to life, in our 1950s Town.

Come and join us for a screening of a documentary film based on a set of diaries written between 1911 and 1913 by the teenage son of a farmer in Thorpe Thewles. These diaries present a young man's stories of life in rural southeast Durham and beyond in the years immediately leading up to the Great War.

More information about the film can be found here.

This film is brought to you by Thorpe Thewles History Group in association with Lonely Tower Film and Media, and made possible by National Heritage Lottery Funding.

This screening is free with an Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership.
